Nontraditional Students
West Virginia University fosters learning for students of all ages and experiences. While most of WVU students are of traditional college age and attend classes full-time, WVU has a number of students who have decided to further fulfill their dreams by returning to school. At West Virginia University, you are considered a nontraditional student if:
- You are a student over the age of 23 or
- You are a student who has graduated high school five or more years ago.
WVU offers a variety of opportunities for nontraditional students including the flexible, individualized academic program, Regents Bachelor of Arts, as well as offering a number of unique online courses and degree programs through WVU’s Office of Extended Learning, which places special emphasis on nontraditional and adult learners.
